Terms & Conditions

1. DOG INFORMATION:

 

1.1  The client agrees that, in allowing Sally’s Dog Walking to walk their dog, that their dog is in good health and has not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behaviour towards any person or any other dog. The client agrees to notify Sally’s Dog Walking immediately of any unwelcome, aggressive, procreative, or dangerous behaviour of their dog that has potential to cause harm to any other dog or individual.

 

1.2  All dogs will be subject to an initial assessment by Sally’s Dog Walking prior to using Sally’s Dog Walking. Sally’s Dog Walking reserves the right to refuse admission to any dog deemed in their absolute discretion to be, or have the potential to be, dangerous or disruptive.

 

1.3  Sally’s Dog Walking offer services where dogs co-mingle in groups and the client accepts that during the course of normal dog play their dog may sustain injuries. All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury, but scratches, punctures, torn ligaments, or other injuries may occur despite the best supervision.

 

1.4  Sally’s Dog Walking will only let dogs off the lead once a 'Dog Walking Agreement Form’ has been signed and will remain at the discretion of Sally’s Dog Walking.

 

1.5  The client is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that their dog receives while under the care of Sally’s Dog Walking, together with any associated costs e.g. Veterinary costs. If your dog is taken ill or has an accident whilst in their care, all efforts will be made to contact the owner to gain permission to take the dog to the vet. In the event that Sally’s Dog Walking are unable to get the owner's permission, they will take the dog to the vet and the owner will be responsible for any veterinary charges.

The Client authorises Sally’s Dog Walking to seek such veterinary advice and/or treatment as they deem necessary; where possible this will be carried out by the client’s usual/preferred Vet, but this cannot be guaranteed (e.g. in an emergency) and the client accepts that Sally’s Dog Walking may at their discretion use any registered Vet. The client agrees to pay all such costs.

 

1.6  Bitches may not attend Sally’s Dog Walking while in season or pregnant. Sally’s Dog Walking reserves the right to refuse admission if these criteria are not met.

 

1.7  The client agrees to take any necessary measures or precautions to ensure that their dog is continuously free of contagious, infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases. The client further agrees to notify Sally’s Dog Walking immediately of any infectious and/or contagious disease or conditions their dog has been exposed to or is affected by. Such diseases and conditions include, but are not limited to: Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough (Bordetella), Parvovirus, Corona Virus, worms, Lyme disease, Fleas, Pregnancy, Infectious Skin Diseases and Intestinal Parasites. Sally’s Dog Walking reserves the right to refuse admission until satisfied that the condition is resolved.

 

1.8  The client agrees that Sally’s Dog Walking is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with their dog.

 

1.9 The client agrees to provide keys/arrange access to the dog for the agreed appointment; failure to do so will result in a cancellation for that day’s service and will be paid in full by the client.

 

1.10  No variation of these Terms and Conditions will have effect unless confirmed by Sally’s Dog Walking in writing.

 

2. PRIVACY:

 

2.1  It shall be the client’s sole responsibility to ensure the information provided to Sally’s Dog Walking is current and up to date. The client agrees to accept any decision made by Sally’s Dog Walking in the event of not being able to contact the client, as a result of wrong information held. If Sally’s Dog Walking is subjected to any expenditure as a result of the decision, that expenditure shall be recoverable from the client.

 

2.2  Sally’s Dog Walking shall not use or pass to a third party (other than a vet), all information relating to the client, their property and pet(s).

 

2.3 The client agrees to read and sign the Data Protection Policy prepared by Sally’s Dog Walking.

 

3. NECESSITIES:

 

3.1  Sally’s Dog Walking will properly dispose of your pet’s waste and supply bags.

 

3.2  The client shall provide sufficient food for their dog for before and after the walk (if applicable). Sally’s Dog Walking will provide suitable treats during the walk.

 

3.3  The client shall provide a secure collar with a tag attached to it, including their postcode, house number and telephone number.

4. DUTY OF CARE:

 

4.1  Sally’s Dog Walking highly respects the client’s trust with the care of their dog and where necessary, having access to the client’s property.

 

4.2  Sally’s Dog Walking will utilise their skill and knowledge to ensure the standards of care provided to your dog and any property is appropriate.

 

4.3  A change in a pet’s routine and circumstances can cause varying degrees of distress and unpredictable or abnormal behaviour. Pets have no concept or ability to understand their owner’s absence is temporary and they will be coming back later that day. Sally’s Dog Walking understands this and will offer comfort and reassurance whilst trying, as far as is practically possible and to maintain their normal daily routines.

 

4.4  In the event of extreme weather which may have an adverse effect on your pet e.g. heat or thunder storms, Sally’s Dog Walking shall, at their sole discretion, take whatever action they consider necessary, including not carrying out scheduled exercise until it is, in their opinion, safe to do so. If the exercise does not take place, the client will not be charged.

 

5. INSURANCE:

 

5.1  Sally’s Dog Walking is fully insured to walk dogs and to transport them in their vehicle.

 

5.2  Sally’s Dog Walking hold and maintain Public Liability Insurance with PetPlan Sanctuary for the peace of mind of their clients.

 

5.3  It shall be the responsibility of the client to ensure their property and its contents are adequately insured throughout the duration of the service provided by Sally’s Dog Walking. The client is advised to check to see if their insurance provider need informing that Sally’s Dog Walking will have a key/s to their property and therefore have access to their property whilst they are out/away from their house.

 

5.4  Sally’s Dog Walking have insurance cover regarding the loss or theft of the client’s house key/s, including replacement locks. The client’s house contents must be covered by the client’s insurance.

 

5.5  The client is solely responsible for any and all harm or damage caused by their dog while it is under the care of Sally’s Dog Walking and agrees to indemnify Sally’s Dog Walking in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties. The insurance will be applied within the conditions of PetPlan Sanctuary Insurance.

 

6. BOOKINGS, PAYMENT AND CANCELLATIONS:

 

6.1 For new clients, an in-home consultation will be required.

 

6.2  Bookings will only be accepted after all the necessary forms have been read, signed and dated.

 

6.3  Sally’s Dog Walking will invoice the client monthly via email. The client will pay within five days, via the agreed payment method of bank transfer.

6.4  One-off cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance; failure to do so will incur 100% charges.
